Josephine M. Kim
PhD., LMHC, NCC
Lecturer at Harvard
Grad. School, 1.5 Gen.
We welcome all of you to come together for a night of bilingual worship, presentation, and prayer to explore and to embrace family wellness within our community. All of us, in one way or another, have experienced the confusion and pain created through the generation, culture, and language gap between the 1st and 2nd generation Korean Americans. Knowing this difficulty of living within the Korean and American cultures, it is our desire to strengthen the family bond by assisting parents and children communicate in a way we all can sincerely feel heard and understood. For this evening, we are very blessed to have Josephine M. Kim (Ph.D., LMHC, NCC). Dr. Kim is a bicultural and bilingual lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Her work and teachings focus on bridging the cultural and generational gap that may occur within our Korean American families. Sharing her testimony and expertise, Dr. Kim will help us clarify the sources of familial conflict that arise from cultural misunderstandings and provide insight into how we can bridge the gap together. Through this event, we will begin to provide helpful information and a space of prayer for families to grow together with open hearts and minds in Christ. Please come learn, be challenged, and pray for each other together.
